Okay, let's face it. Easter is over. Mother's Day is over. So what shall I do? I am going to post Easter pictures. I say better late than never. We had an awesome day. It started with the most beautiful, red sunrise. The sky was a deep orange, magenta, and yellow. The sun itself was a deep orange red. When I saw this sunrise it made me feel like I was viewing a scene from a movie. You know the ones. This star looked so gigantic, (well, it is gigantic but you know what I am talking about) floating in space. It moves so fast that one only has a very small opportunity to get it on film. My camera wasn't set on spot metering so I lost a little time. I think it still turned out to be a pretty good photo of this huge star. You tell me.

We headed over to Moon Lake at Idle Hour Park for an Easter Sunrise Service. The lake was breathtaking with a low fog moving across the top of the water and the orange sun shining through the mist. Water droplets from the the fountain were glistening in the sunshine and the air was cool and comfortable.
Everyone seemed to be "takin' it all in,
" listening to the ducks, geese, swans, the water fountain, the breeze whistling through the trees and the words of the songs focused only on the One who created this beautiful day.

I took this from my seat with my 70-200mm lens. I am not sure the duck is in focus but he was so cute I just had to shoot him (with a camera..lol).
After we left Moon Lake, we headed to Callaway Gardens for a picnic and Easter Egg Hunt. Will and I hid the eggs while the girls were swimming in Robin Lake. When we told them we were ready for them to start the hunt, the screaming started. You gotta love little girls. I wonder....do boys scream like girls?

This is a little man-made stream that circles Robin Lake. It's loaded with fish and turtles.
Manna found a baby snapping turtle on the edge of the lake. She kept putting her fingers on its nose hoping it would try to bite her. Never did.
This photo was taken in the lake where the wedding chapel sits. These fish were swimming right at the top of the water. It was hard to see them so I am not sure what kind they are. They look like gar or trout. They had long noses. Each one measured about 2 1/2 feet in length. The girls were fascinated with them.

This was the last picture of the day at Callaway Gardens Easter Sunday. What a relaxing day. This was the best Easter that we have ever had.
So I close the day with a breathtaking sunset over Lake Oliver in Phenix City, AL/Columbus GA. Will had to hold me up on a guard rail to get this picture. That is not an easy job these days. I must lay off the donuts!! He would agree...lol.
